Nutrition and Food Science Department of Health

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The program trains students in nutrition and Food Science as it relates to the dynamic influences of diet, society, exercise, stress and disease. This program will benefit those individuals in the health care, teaching, coaching, organizational leadership, fitness and sports therapy, physical therapy, home health aide, exercise specialists, health coaches, nutrition or fitness writers/bloggers, human resources, nutritional advising and senior wellness fields.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Integrate core nutrition competencies into current clinical practice and/or professional work.
  • Incorporate knowledge of human nutrition and treatment strategies into clinical practice.
  • Assess the relationship between nutrients and biochemical/physiological processes and the various synergistic, antagonistic effects of nutrients.

Entry Requirements

  • Students must have a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with credit pass in English and one Science Subject if applying for Public Health and Nutrition.
  • College admits both male and female students.
  • Students are admitted from any religious and social background

Programme includes:

  • Tuition fee: MWK200,000.00
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Exam Board: AIES
  • Exam Fee: $250
  • Requirement: MSCE
