COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The qualification equips learners with the abilities to
recognize community requirements and devise both immediate and extended
strategies to enhance and rejuvenate communities. Students are also equipped to
adeptly handle interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges,
including designing new parks, providing housing for the homeless, and enhancing
a region's appeal to businesses.
After finishing the program, student will have the ability to:
- Â Increase awareness of the techniques and strategies used to enhance community health and development.
- Acquire essential skills in this field such as establishing partnerships, conducting community assessments, problem-solving and goal-setting analysis, strategic planning, intervention methods, advocacy, evaluation techniques, and sustainable planning.
- Improve expertise and proficiency by engaging in supervised practical exercises aimed at tackling community health and development challenges like substance abuse, chronic disease prevention, promoting independent living, preventing violence and injuries, fostering youth development, and enhancing neighborhood growth.
